DISTRICT N-2 PRIORITIES AND GOALS 2009-2010

    PRIORITIES:

    1) To increase district N2 club membership by building a firm relationship between each district in the Atlantic Provinces to ensure our District N2 members we are working as a TEAM with the same common goals.

    2) Due to the decline in our membership over the past 10 years, we need to see strong growth by forming  Branch Clubs and new Charter Clubs over the next 5 to 10 years in order to maintain the great volunteering work we do,

    3) We need a strong effort on the part of N2 MERL Team, 1st VDG, 2nd VDG, Zone Chairs, Club Membership Chairs, Club Presidents and the PDG Committee to develop some new ideas in order to move forward by:

    a)  Forming one new Charter Club and one New Branch Club during 2009-2010 and;

    b)  Increasing our membership with new members by more than 207 to maintain our present level of 1821, because during 2008-2009 there was a lost of 207 members.

    4) It will be necessary to have a much stronger effort in order to build up the weaker club’s membership this year which can only be done if we work together as a TEAM.

NOTE: There was an open discussion during my training for DG concerning membership. It was suggested the District Governors make sure we used everyone’s skills, knowledge and experience to work toward with the same common GOALS.

Our International President’s THEME is:  MOVE TO GROW

    OTHER GOALS:

     1. Strengthen leadership by providing more training at the club level
     2. Increase growth by promoting LIONISM, and fellowship with harmony.

     3. Operate as a District TEAM.
     5. Work towards more positive relations with Multiple District N.
     6. Support the MD Regional Leadership Institute.
     7. Promote the Global Membership & District MERL Teams.
     8. Promote Lions Foundation of
Canada Dog Guide program; LCIF and the N-2 Foundation.
9 Develop more effective public awareness.
     10. Use a PDG Advisory committee to help solve problems more quickly,

    District Governor's Newsletter

    November 2009

2009-10 Theme: “Flying High With Lionism,”

    Dear Fellow Lions:

I take this opportunity to thank all Lion volunteers in district N2 for their dedication to Lionism.  Thanks also to Lions family members and the public for their loyal support to Lion volunteers while they volunteer to serve those in need.  Our Motto “WE SERVE”.

Fellow Lions, over the past four months our district N2 has improved with unity and it has shown a positive effect with an increase in membership.  Therefore, I thank you for being so positive with you loyalty to Lionism, using the three R’s – Respect for Self, Respect for others and Responsible for all Your Actions.

I take this opportunity to thank the Coldbrook and District Lions for the outstanding job you did during the Fall Cabinet Meeting and I also thank the Waterville Fire Department as well as they catered the event.  “Outstanding job done by all”. I appreciate and thank Lion members and families for attending the Fall Cabinet Meeting.  For those who could not attend, I thank you for your strong support in Lionism and I want you to know  you are appreciated for all you do.

LCI President, Eberhard J. Wirfs, Theme: “MOVE TO GROW”, has motivated Lions all over the world in many different ways to take the challenge to work together towards improving Lionism growth with respect for others, trust, dedication, attitude and unity to follow our Lions Code of Ethics with the understanding “To be careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise, to build up and not destroy”.

Lions,  District N2 stands proud because of your service in Lionism.  Here is a Code of Ethics called “SERVICE” -  “The high road to service is traveled with integrity, compassion and understanding people don’t care how much we know until they know how much you care.”
